I think it's good that you are focused on school, but maybe if you found a hobby or interest, such as a dance class or sports team, you could find some friends who share your same interests. Why do you say you can forget about having a boyfriend? If you get out there and get involved in some activities, maybe you'll meet a nice guy who is interesting and has a lot in common with you. If it's hard for you to work a hobby or class into your schedule, maybe you could get on MySpace and meet some new local people through there.

I was in your shoes at your exact age. My parents were a little controlling so I felt as if I never did anything but work and school. However, I would recommend hanging out in a more social place where you can meet other people. You said you are in school, so try joining some activities/clubs there. If you attend church, that would also be a great place for you to meet others, not to mention getting some guidance. Instead of getting depressed over the situation, which never helps, I would try to be more pro-active about things. Make them happen. I wish you luck!! : )

If you are clinically depressed, please get some help. It can be very hard to get over depression on your own and there is nothing to be ashamed about. Lots of people have bouts of depression.
Are there any sports or clubs you're interested in? How about joining a gym? Working out can help alleviate feelings of depression and can be a great place to meet people. Do you like to meet new people?
Don't worry about not having a boyfriend....people stress that too much and it is not even important at your age. Focus on making friends, finding out what kind of activities make you happy, and taking care of yourself.

Find an activity you would like to do that involves other people. Join a club, a church group, Make your life bigger. I don't mean this to sound harsh but if show interest in people outside of yourself, (make sure they are the right people), they will be interested in you. Have you tried to volunteer at a soup kitchen or afterschool tutoring program. How about meals on wheels.
The best way to get help in this kind of situation is to give it.

the same thing happens to me sometimes. i have friends but for some reason i dont consider them very close. i would suggest finding a hobby or joining an extra club in school. when u find something that you like to do and have in common with others that will help you make new friends. Good Luck
