I'm not sure what "myth" you are refering to. If you are asking why they think the media is mostly liberal, it is probably for the same reason that the majority of liberals realize it.

This sick and antiquated propaganda has no relation to the Liberal media that conservatives see now. The media now isn't really liberal, per se, but it is profit driven. Its goal is no longer to 'report' on events but to 'influence' public policy, the ultimate goal being profit.
