They are in my opinion the team to beat in the Western conference, they can beat the suns because they can slow them down as you saw and they could also play an up-tempo game. They can beat the Mavs because Tim Duncan will dominate in the paint, and the Mavs will start to collapse.
I forgot to mention that they won 13 games in a row just a while ago and barely hear anyone talkin about that.

The Spurs are a team that wins ball games, but they do it quietly. They're a team that doesn't get caught up in hype of the post season because they know, as a team, what they're capable of. You can bet that any team who is having to play them in the 1st rd. is extremely nervous right now. They have an extremely well rounded squad that leads the NBA in fewest points allowed, and their bench is pretty deep as well!!! Not to mention the amount of playoff experience. However, they are going to have to address the fact that Tim Duncan is getting older and that they'll definitely have to consider getting someone who can take a lot of the pressure away from him. I'm hoping that the draft will help them. None the less, Tim Duncan will dominate the paint, and Manu, and Tony will step up huge. A team that has a good half-court set and can run you out of the bldg. also is a huge advantage come playoff time. It wouldn't surprise me if they went to the NBA Finals, but they will have a very hard time getting there w/ the Suns and Mavs playing at a high level as well.

i haven't forgotten about them but when you mention their 13 game winning streak yeah that was good but what about the mavs 12-13-17 game winning streaks and their 23 game winning streak at home. and not only that they lost their 13 game winning streak to the BUCKS! so not too bad mouth the spurs cause i own a TONY PARKER jersey yeah i think that the Mavs and the spurs will dominate all the way to the confrence finals but then it gets a little fuzzy i don't know what will happen then! but i think the mavs will pull it off in a 6 game series and either beat the pistons, bulls, cavs, or the unspoken about Miami. That is where they will get payback for last years finals!

I think that Dallas will have a hard road to get to the finals despite having the best record in basketball at 64-13. The Spurs can beat them and I believe the Mavericks do know this. It might actually work in the favor of the Spurs that they are being ignored or overshadowed because that is when they can be the most surprising and the most dangerous.

First of all because they play boring basketball. They play a slow half-court offense and barely get out on the fastbreak. The suns and mavs do that a lot so people like to watch them and talk about them more. Also, when you play a half-court offense and you slaughter teams it isn't much fun to watch at all. So, thats why the spurs have been forgotten. But once they get into the playoffs i think they will win the west because their slow half-court offense and lockdown defense is hard to stop.

Because they don't have one of the top records in the west right now. It is all about the Mavs and the Suns, but like you pointed out the playoffs are a different animal and the Spurs difinitely will be a factor.

who has forgotten about the spurs? the reason they won 13 in a row and noone talks about it, is because the mavs and suns won what 17 in a row i think. but you're right, they definately have the ability to win the western conference, but it really is anyones championship.

It's because everybody is hopped up on the Dallas Mavericks although I agree with your assessment that the San Antonio Spurs are the team to beat in the West.

I'm not a Spurs fan at all, but they have flown under the radar to be third in the west. I think since the east is so wide open & ESPN is so interested in the last of west seeds that the top west teams haven't really been talked about.

I have not forgotten the Spurs.
They were my pick to win it all before the season began and they're still my pick. They have a good rotation, and Manu is playing as well as he did in his All-Star year. Tim Duncan is a forgotten MVP and Defensive Player of Year candidate.
They're the team everyone wants to avoid now.

Because they are so boring, they don't run up and down the court--- they just smash their opponents !!

All people care about is Dallas and Phoenix scoring points but they Spurs win rings
