I guess, I know of two types of "pearl necklaces" guys like to give. One comes from a jeweler which you should love and the other from your hubby's one eyed friend which you may love but just not the same. You may want to clarify with him.

I wouldn't expect a solid pearl necklace but the liquid pearl necklace if you know what I mean. Go ahead and get excited if you like wearing goo around your neck.

be damn excited. I recieved a single cultured pearl on a necklace from an ex and it is myone of my most treasured item... pearls are lovely, Happy Birthday:)
I know it's sounds cheesy but you can test the pearls for authenticity by running your tooth over a single pearl and if it chips it's not real*
