Why don't you see what other car you could get, for the price your Cougar would bring? Then you could decide if you want to sell or not.

Best thing to do if the vehicle has rust bubbles appearing is to sell it.

The next vehicle you purchase, have someone with a little vehicle savvy join you, to detect the problems before you purchase.

Hope you ran the VIN for collision damage & liens prior to purchase, because the next person will. . .

Trade it in or sell it if you don't want the expense and trouble of having it repaired.....Check the Kelly Blue Book for the value. How many miles are on it????

Everything wears out, Ford, Dodge, Chevy, Toyota.....

Getting rid of a car that needs a little "ordinary" maintenance seems kind of silly.
