That is exactly why the registries are not doing what they intended to do. Only seriouse offenses such as rape or actual child molestation should be listed. As of now, the registries are so deluted that parents can not differenciate between true dangers or just a case of poor judgement.

It always makes me sad and angry when I hear about these things. It could have been handeled so much better.

The kid is not a monster. What he did may have been wrong, especially if the situation was forced, but what society is doing to the boy is a mental rape for life.

No, as it is likely they have only been pawns in a adults game to identify more with their abuser because the adult in the situation had "power" over them. It is hard for an abused child to know know is right (or wrong) up to that age.
