I will smile back if someone on a motorcycle or in a car smiles but I usually am too preoccupied to notice anyone.

Yes I do...especially if I caught them picking their nose. That earns a big smile.

Where I live now, generally, I always have a smile on my face along with most of the others that reside and commute in the area. People just do that here due to the relaxed atmosphere.
Not the case in some areas near and around where I moved from. A simple glance would be all that is nessesary to give some punks a reason or excuse to pop a cap in your direction. Gotta love gangs!?

Yes I do make eye contact and if the people are usually grumpy I dont just smile I wave at them then you see the most odd reaction from them

Sort of... I do it intentionally when I wear sunglasses just to see if they'll look away. They usually do look away then look back. If they smile, I usually just pretend I'm not looking at them.
