You're too late mate. Britain is already like America and has been since it set up colonies there back in the 17th century. UK, USA, OZ, Canada, NZ etc are all countries who belong to the English Speaking World. At the head of this English [Anglo Saxon] World are the Americans.

Over half the enterprises here in UK are American owned. Why? Because UK has an open economy and we believe in free trade and Globalisation. This means that anybody, including the Americans, can buy and/or set up businesses here in UK and no questions asked. From here American companies can trade into the EU by simply being registered in UK - in effect they are UK companies but the major share-holders are Americans.

The most important people in UK are shareholders. I'm one! What are you waiting for? Dive in and grab your share. You can buy shares at your bank - don't blame me if the whole thing crashes into a pile of rubble. Or is that bubble burst? Whatever.

That is true.Britain can never become America. It is a small country which depended on colonies for survival. It has no financial or industrial srength like USA.Pound Sterling is no more an international currency,Euro replaced it.With growing unemployment, declining share of world trade,UK has to become another state or part of USA.It may be hard to digest. But sorrry that is the fact.Applogy to your feelings if you are offended.
The prestige of UK can be regained only by developing nuclear technology(power generation also) and sell to third world countries. For this UK should have independant Nuclear Policy.Another area is Aviation field ie, manufature of passenger air crafts and sell for which UK has capcity. It may solve unemployment also to some extent. But there should be political will to deviate from the path of follower to US policies.

America is the only country in the world we (Britain) can rely on as a true allie. throughout the years we have only been the 2 countries brave enough ( including our commonwealth buddies) to stand up to the true eviles in the world, We are good friends and long may it continue. Both of our countries would not want to be exactly like each other as we have both very differnt cultures, & values, like somebody said earlier thats what makes it intresting to visit each other, and to experiance the pleasures that each country provides.

Me but unfortunately it already is in almost the whole of England or should I say the South of England where drug barons sit in offices and command the corrupt politicians and crooks rake in money while others work for a pittance at one time the labour party would have tried to change this but now with Tory Liar, tin Brown, and the other scotsmen in charge all it is, is a branch of the American republican party, I have always been a labour supporter but I am afraid that there is no such thing as the labour party anymore Liar and his scum have destroyed it.

We are almost there already.
You only have to watch the news, showing shootings of young kids etc, to realise it.
It will be a sad day when the final part of the puzzle is placed. That being the law allowing the owning of handguns by mwmnbers of the British public.
A very wise man said "The easiest way to get shot is to carry a gun".

We Americans already answered this question. We did it a little more than 200 years ago when we decided we did not want to be British. I am glad to have the British as friends but I do not want to be like you. Americans are Americans and the British are the British. We should not be alike. What fun would it be to go to another country for a visit and have that country be just like home. I like the fact that we are different and I hope it is always this way.

Will someone please describe for me what the difference between the US and UK is at the moment? As all the times I've visited the only thing I noticed was driving on different sides of the road and different architecture, hardly a big deal in the great scheme of things.
