Absolutely. You can even use the people you have volunteered with as "references" to your work. To volunteer shows that you have a drive to better the community, regardless of what you volunteer for, and if you will work hard for free, you will likely work much harder for pay.
I was amazed to learn, one at a local science museum and the other at an out-of-town animal park that the people leading both were 17 year old volunteers. They were strong leaders, good with people, and proficient with public speaking, which is lacking in many adults in the workplace, let alone youths! The experience you will get from volunteering is invaluable.

Yes, I volunteer now (Im 15) and my "employer" says that if I want a job they can right me a refrence which is good to have when applying. Also, it'll show that you can handel a job and that you are determined.

Yep! Both my kids volunteered prior to getting "real jobs" and it counted as "experience". It also showed that they had a strong work ethic!

Volunteering helps you in increasing your contacts, it helps you in getting more experience it will help you a lot in increasing your skill..... but simultaneously keep your studies on... that will also help you in getting a good job. volunteering Will be ADD On to your Resume.
