Some films affect people deeply; other have apparently no effect at all.

I think that it could be argued that there are negative effects of younger people watching a older rated movie but afterall they do have ratings and if you feel strongly about it simply stick to the guidlines. Personally I believe that if parents explain the difference between reality and fiction then it can be alright. With this said I am not suggesting to sit a three year old down to the Exorcist or anything. Just my opinion anyway.
