There was no good reason for saying a thing like that about
anyone, and then there goes the 'racist' theme again! I
don't believe Imus intended for the slip of the tongue to
point to blacks, whites, or any one else..yet it didn't
sound good..however, the suspension probally is in order.
Rutgers is a very respected school and there must be measures taken toward protection of such verbal attacks
upon it.

Yes I do feel it is a good punishment. I think in his defense he would have made a comment about any team. I truly listen to this guy in the mornings, and watch him on T.V. I know from what I have seen that he is not prejudice, racist, or a bigot. I really think that he made this mistake and is sorry for it. Non of us are perfect. The guy has apologized, now let it go. I am so sick of the media putting so much hype on these situations. There are far more things out there to worry about then what this guy has done. I did not see Isiah going on Ellen to issue an apology, or Rosie for that matter... Lets let it go, lets focus all this hoopla on something that is going to make a difference.

Yes it was enough. That along with the apology is plenty. Look what he said was in poor taste. He said it to be funny. It is not necessarily a racist comment. Why is it that black, hispanics, or whomever can say absolutely anything about a white person and its just fine. This is a huge double standard. If you turn on to black talk shows on the radio, like Mr "i hate white people" Sharpton, he spews more anti-white (racist) comments in a day then most others do in a year. Is his job in jeopardy? No. Is there back lash against him? No, not publicly.
What Imus said was intended to be funny. Which it actually was. Yes it was in bad taste, I will admit that. But so it a lot of what people say when they try to be comical. If he had said something calling a white girl a honky or nappy headed would people still be mad? How is saying someone has nappy hair racist? This political correctness is not only double standard but just rediculous. As white people, are we forced to be so careful about what comes out of our mouths from now on in fear of being bashed and labeled racists? While other people, like black people, can say anything about anybody they want, including their own?
Ever listen to a rap or hip hop song? There is more comments there that make comments about females/black females and who is complaining? No one.
If you are so worried or concerned about peoples comments, start with your own. Half of the racist allegations today are bogus and just cheap. Sure I will say racism exists, but it comes from all sides. And just because you are a minority, doesnt mean you too can say anything you please, while jumping someone elses *** for saying something.

I feel it was a "slap on the wrist" and wonder if he will learn anything from this suspension. Imus is arrogant and like many other "famous personalities" I do believe he thinks he is above it all.

About all the good that may come from this 'suspension'?
The station will get an accurate count of the listenership, from the complaints received with the punishment. . .
