No. I'm not a tree but I still reach for the sky to give my daughter the stars.

The longer my roots are the better I'll be in reaching for the sky.

to answer your question in a metaphorical and perhaps literal sense, the ability of a tree to lay its roots as far as possible actually helps it to reach higher and higher.

on the contrary deep roots would help to stand firm and betterly resist storms, tornados, whirls and be able to let my branches reach for the sky.

Surely they would provide a firm basis for me to reach from. They would help keep me steady as I climbed up through the turbulent winds that batter us all when we reach for the sky.
