You presented a hyperlink to porn. that's a definate no-no and you're able to have figured it out on your person or regarded it up in the coverage/regulations/rules. Sorry, notwithstanding this isn't any ones fault yet yours. you weren't wrongfully suspended. toddlers under 13 do view this internet site even tho they are instructed it is not allowed. they don't have a discern status over them a hundred% of the time gazing what they do. To be a reliable community member you're able to behave as a reliable community member and not placed up porno or links to it.

To me Imus should not have been suspended. He is an equal opportunity insulter. No one escapes his acid tongue, not whites, jews, asians, europeans etc.
It IS a double standard especially when blacks use the "n" word, call women bit*hes and ho's and also use the description of "nappy haired" in their songs; The black comedians who use the "n" word and also call ethnicities slurs such as "cracker" etc.
If they want to suspend Imus, they should suspend EVERYONE who uses offensive words (boy would that be almost everybody). They are the ones who give words power over them.
Then to have Al Sharpton with his vitriol is ridiculous. He is still trying to keep himself relevant and keep himself and people like Jesse Jacksom from becoming obsolete especially in the wake of someone like a Barack Obama who is a fresh face and with a different perspective and appeal. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson seemed to have selective memory. They seemed to have forgotten all the times THEY called jews " uncle hymie" and whites " crackers and honkies" .

Each group is allowed to make derogatory remarks about itself because the assumption (whether true or not) is that a group is not being racist or ethnic-hating towards itself.
Groups that have traditionally been discriminated against or who have been ridiculed in the past are particularly sensitive, with good reason, to slurs and ridicule coming from those who formerly engaged in such conduct – usually the discriminating majority.
As the first answer pointed out, a member of one minority group can’t make derogatory remarks about another minority group and expect the remark to go unnoticed and without censure.

I think there is a tiny bit of difference. All those black guys use the n---- word against themselves. If they attacked jews, asians, gays etc with racist names, they'd be ostracized too.
And this is about corporations kicking people out or not, not the government. I don't believe the government has any right to limit freedom of speech. However, I think corporations if they think its in their best interest to kick people off, should do it. Imus is free to call black people all the names he wants. He just can't do it on MSNBC time.

I don't think anyone should be suspend or fired. But I do agree that there is a double standard, and it pisses people off, and keeps race tensions unnecessarily high. There are worse things in the black community that Reverend Al and the NAACP be concerned with. The lyrics in Rap or what about black on black crime? What is worse black on black crime or some 70 year old calling 8 women "nappy headed hos"? If they focused on what matters instead of percieved in justices maybe things in their own communities would be better.
Also Mr. Sharpton, do I need to remind you of Tawana Brawley?

You are right on! What is good for the goose is good for the gander. The blacks are doing it to themselves but as soon as a "cracker" opens his mouth they are out to get him. Pure hypocrisy!

Imus screwed up and insulted a civilian. He should know better but I disagree with how non civilians have picked it up and made it an issue. If they have an FCC card their fair game.
But a basketball team is a "public" entity, so go figure.

I didn't know Imus worked for Al Sharpton. Who is Al to call for a firing? Al is on TV now just to hype ratings.
