You are right. The answer is 1 7/10. First you must make the denominators the same. You do this by multiplying the 2/5 by 2 making it 4/10. The equation is now 6 4/10-4 7/10. Change to improper fractions by multiplying 10 by 6 and adding the 4 making it 64/10. Then 10 by 4 and add 7 making it 47/10. The equation is now 64/10-47/10. Subtract the top number and put then over the bottom number making it 17/10. Change to a mixed number by dividing the 10 into 17. It then becomes 1 7/10.
