Do we really need these anwers or are people just facinated and bored. Some of these questions are more of a waste of time then watching water boil.
Is there any real puepose to some of these questions

There is a genuine need for people to have contact even if it is through the use of technology. Most of us enjoy sharing our knowledge and learning from others. I must admit though that the lazy people who want you to do the internet research for them and those with an agenda of spreading hate and negativity could be happily deleted.

I ask questions to understand other people. I answer questions to help other people understand the value of my perspective and to help them understand others better.
The honesty of perspective from the average person is immensely valuable to me because my perspective is so different that I have been unable to understand most social traditions on my own. Everytime I read answers to a question (esp. when I ask my own question) I don't feel more connected with and understanding of the values and desires of others.
To those who preach from a question, or waste time with answers, you are seriously missing out on a very rich, fulfilling, and beautiful world of understanding, love, and synergy with others.

Some people really do need help with school. Other people are bored and ask ridiculous questions, and others offer their knowledge to help people.

I find so much of it interesting and love reading other peoples opinions. As far as the questions that are less then intelligent I just skip over those.

Sometimes it's boredom, sometimes it's legitimately seeking answers to legitimate questions. Most of all, it's an example of how society has changed by demonstrating how much we all rely on our computers now and by how much online socialization has replaced face to face socialization.

you're right the timewasters on this site are unbelievable. I only have been using this site as I was ill for the last year and couldn't go out and it was a help to me to be in contact in this indirect way. Now I'm better and I won't be using it any more, i will actually be living my life!

because i can't sleep, it's 4:21, nothing good on the tube, nothing to eat in the fridge, and i want to get to level 3 by thursday
