Psalms 37:29 The righteous themselves will possess the earth,
And they will reside forever upon it.
Proverbs 2:21 For the upright are the ones that will reside in the earth, and the blameless are the ones that will be left over in it. 22 As regards the wicked, they will be cut off from the very earth; and as for the treacherous, they will be torn away from it.

It's a little misguided to rely too heavily on scripture for answers about our future. What does 'forever' mean anyway? Nothing lasts forever. Our Sun will eventually die, and our planet will follow. However, the verses you quote do seem to ring true for modern civilisation.

If we are evil, wicked, or treacherous and thus don't treat our planet with the respect it deserves then there's every chance we will destroy it or make it uninhabitable.

If that's the case it's more likely that the whole planet will be affected for everyone, righteous, evil, or otherwise. i.e. the few will spoil it for the many.

This could be interpreted in a number of ways. Through apathy and ignorance we could affect the planet's ecosystem through climate change - in extreme cases drastically affecting weather systems to the detriment of human kind.

It's unlikely that a single natural disaster (outside of a comet hitting the planet), could wipe us all out completely ... but it's feasible that a man made disaster might.

On a similar vein, we may ravage the planet through war, perhaps involving nuclear annihilation. A very scary prospect, especially with certain states newly developing such weapons and being very angry with those who already have them ... the West, for all it's faults, would likely be very measured and thoughtful about using such weapons today, but some of these other countries are run by fanatics and unstable egomaniacs, who may just push the button on a whim, or out of spite.

Whether any of the above is sufficient to wipe out the human race remains to be seen, but we may 'scorch the earth' such that it's not viable for us to remain here and may have to look to the stars, and potentially terraform other planets ... that's obviously in the reasonably distant future, but who's to say how long it'll take for us to ruin our home.

Another reason for leaving planet could simply be population, we might simply run out of room and population control may prove impractical, unpopular, or unworkable ... so again we might find people colonising the moon, Mars, etc. We may evacuate in the far far distant future when our Sun dies too.

In answer to your question, there's no telling that we'll definitely be here forever, and our chances of being here for much longer are going to be severely limited unless we start treating the planet better, and getting along with each other.

Food for thought, anyway.

Put aside your bible and go read something by Richard Dawkins. Like maybe The Ancestors Tale. In there he says when the end times come for humans, the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse will be scavenged by rodents (figuratively speaking) which will live on way beyond the time of people.

There are two things the human mind cannot comprehend, one is Eternity and the other is Infinity, and I'm afraid the writer of that Psalm cannot comprehend forever also! This very earth or solar system will not last forever! not even half of forever! even .1 of forever! So are you getting some idea of what 'Forever' means? Oh! bible punching day dreamers, wake up!

The earth is billions of years old, creatures come and go.. the dinosaurs lasted sixty million years and now they are gone. Humans have made it one million years, but someday they too will be gone. There are billions of years left for the earth and it is plain hubris to think that humans will last that long. It would be interesting to know what the next evolutionary stage will be...

Were you asking a question, or looking for a chance to proselytize? If you really wanted an answer, I'd say no. Eventually our sun will burn out. If you're trying to share a religious message, you're in the wrong area.
