Before one criticizes the fact that they all said they were trespassing in Iranian waters, I think it's important to remember that Britain isn't at war with Iran. The sailors' reaction to their interrogation can't be compared with that of POW's. Although they are neither war heroes or cowards, I don't think they should be able to sell their stories for personal profit while they are members of the Royal Navy.

According to the Military the sale of their " thoughts" is a disgrace as are the "thoughts" themselves. One "cried like a baby" feared of rape and murder.
The lady thought she heard her coffin being built & was "measured by a tape."! As she was provided with clothes instead of her uniform this is hardly inhumane. Nor table tennis , chess, TV . In a previous press statement about her 3 year old etc she said sometimes being in the Navy was like being on an ocean liner with nothing much happening. Well this is like to be, unless the Military intervenes a profitable happening. As expected we will have endless " Tales told by an idiot." Psycho babble at thousands of dirty pounds. It aint Guatanamo or Iraq etc or whatever but we do think about that too and the true meaning of torture, rape, murder and the majority of your answers hopefully confirm a shameful episode for Britain yet again. And too we shall be bombarded with the thoughts of chairman Bush and Blair. Enough.

Glad that they are back home safely. I think by not resisting they did the smart thing under the circumstances and it doesn't sound like they gave away any vital information. It is really hard to judge someone if you haven't been in the same or similar situation. I think selling their stories to the press is wrong though.

I was not there and will make no judgements on them. Unless you have been in a similar situation you don't know how you will react. My initial feelings were however...that if they were Americans...some might have violated the US Military Code of Conduct after their capture. From the sounds of it, not resisting initially was a smart thing to do since it appeared the were severely out gunned and out manned.
PS: If Aqua Rose was captured...she would have rolled over like a baby seal for them and would have gone on their national TV screaming Impeach Bush Now Impeach Bush Now.

They should be court marshaled for promoting propaganda with Iran, instead they are being permitted to sell their story to the press.
Which is an unheard of violation of Navy tradition, just showing how far the sun has set on the British Empire.

Most were good upstanding military men. a few were cowards (who certainly defied the code of military conduct of the USA) I don't know what the British code of military conduct was. They were most likely not in another countries waters and they certainly weren't hostile. Most sane countries would have simply shot across their bow and let the invading vessel return the way it came. It was an act of War to take them hostage when the British had no idea that Iran was at war with them. The British soldiers all stated after feedom "they were not in Iranian waters"

Every sovereign nation has the right to protect its territorial integrity and take appropriate action, as Iran did, against unauthorised intruders!

They will live the rest of their lives in UK so It is natural that they say lies when they returend to UK. Maybe 50years from now they sell their true stories.
But just by watching the TV they were enjoying Iranian hospitality:) I am 100% sure those smiles were not fake

They were held against their will for political reasons and one upmanship by the Iranians. Guess what ? The Iranians had the last laugh. I would not be surprised if it happens again soon to American soldiers just to test our will.

I think they sailed into Iranian waters, were captured for it, admitted it to their captors, were freed, then said they lied to appease their government and the "all powerful" warlord Bush's rule working closely with the British government.
