This is a diesel truck I wish to take the truck to Spain full off house contents it is apprx 1200miles each way.And I am trying to get an idea on the fuel cost

depends how light your right-foot is........... do a AA route map, it shows you mileage etc.....

How old is the truck?

If it's modern (Mercedes Atego, Daf CF, MAN TG) something around 15-18mpg is quite feasible.

If it's an old wagon with worn injectors and fuel pump, you'll be lucky to see 10 to the gallon...

it shold do an average of about 17 to the gallon,however you wold if you did it right put jst enough fuel in to get you to France where the feul is cheaper and fill tank there.
Coupled to ferry costs i would get in touch with an english firm who run spanish traffic and get them to pick it up it would probably be cheaper.

my company has 17/23 mercs which have ecco engines they normilly do between 8 &12depending on loads and traffic but on a run they do about 17

I WENT ACROSS THE WATER LAST WEEK. I WAS RETURNING ABOUT 14 TO THE GAL CARRYING ABOUT 15TON IN A 6 WHEELER.
