find the amount when the base and percent are known.

Convert 25% to decimal

remove the % symbol. Divide 25 by 100

25 / 100 = 0.25

multiply 5800 times the decimal

5800 x 0.25 = 1450

The amount Php is 1450

1450 is 25% of 5800

5800 includes 100% of the rent (x) and 25% profit from the rent, therefore it is equivalent to 125% of the rent

5800 = (125%)x
5800 = 1.25x ... (change % to decimal form)
5800 = 1.25x ... solve for x, divide both sides by 1.25
4640 = x ... therefore the rent is 4640

now find the profit ...

5800 - 4640 = profit

1160 = profit
