Yes, it is rather easy. I stop. More people should try it sometimes... ;)

Is it really a need?I mean if you really think you need to do it for survival, then by all means complain.I'm not sure if your speaking of yourself or just asking this question is general, but have you ever known someone who b**ched and moaned about every little nit picking thing on the planet. If the sun was shining they wouldn't see it because their allergies were bothering them if someone were laughing and enjoying themselves in the park and they were sitting on the bench watching they wouldn't see it because they were thinking about the dishes at home in the sink.Negative thinking and speaking and doing is all a vicious cylcle that can be stopped if a person is willing.Every negative thought must be replaced with a positive,ya know the ol reprograming the tapes in your head.It can be done but nothing happens overnight, but thats o.k. now isn't it?

I usually can if it's not something that I need to address with someone. I start a mental list of all of the good things I have in my life - husband, daughter, family, friends, experiences, health, - and by about #10, I'm feeling pretty darn blessed and pretty darn selfish for complaining.

Why is complaining a problem? I only see it as a problem if it affects those around you, such as a significant other. I just tell my boyfriend, "I complain a lot", and he understands. Maybe I don't even complain all that much. If you find the right people to share your thoughts with, it will affirm your self worth.

i do everyday, working in the customer service industry means i get to be everyones complaint box, especially cause i work for a hotel and i have the over night shift.
I know how it is to have to hear it all the time, that's why i never give anyone in the food industry a hard time.
And when things get so bad that i am the one complaining, i write it all down and then throw it away, and keep other things on my mind..... like beating God of War 2

It's all about keeping the proper perspective about things. Makes yourself a list things that you are thankful for. For me, I have a lovely wife and daughter, a house, my owns and so on. I also look at how much better I have it than others. I don't have to worry about where my next meal is coming from. I don't live in a war zone and most of my problems don't seem so large anymore.

I think it's possible...just another thing I'm working on; the things I tend to complain about are the things I cannot control...

Of course. I'd rather fix the problem than sit there and whine about it.

Yes, if you realize that it is a problem. When you put it out of your mind or substitute it with something else, then you will begin to break the habit.
