a question about the (2006)version of the posiedon?ware did that boat raft come from?

ok towards the end of the posiedon ware they go threw the papellers and jump off the boat.a boat raft appears ware in the heck did that come from?

having worked for a life raft servicing company here's the poop:

I have not seen the movie, but from what you said I'd guess:

along the side of ships, near the lifeboats you'll see a bunch of white fiberglass canisters, a bit bigger than an oil drum. Packed inside each is an inflatable life raft, which can hold 25-45 people.

If the crew doesn't inflate the rafts, there's an automatic release valve on the canisters that lets them float free when they and the ship have sunk to 35 feet...the canister opens, the raft inflates automatically, and it has a line attached to it, strong enough to keep an inflated raft alongside, but weak enough so it will break and not allow the liferaft to be dragged down by a sinking ship....

Does this seem like what you saw? If so the Hollywood types actually listened to their tech people and got it right...

Yes I did wonder as well but if you look carefully in various long shots of the boat during the movie you can see the rafts floating about the water. It IS peculiar that the raft would stay so close to the ship and not drift away. Still, the whole thing seemed a little too fantastic for an ending, but, alas, a Hollywood ending it was.

maybe it was on the posiedon & when it sank, the boat raft was the only thing that stayed afloat from the ship.

hehhehe.. yeah really!!! no wonder they catch such big fish.. i might have to try that next time.. maybe the walleye, trout, or catfish will all come up at the smell of p!$$. I went fishing last week, and i drunk like 15 beers (Budweiser, baby!!) and it seemed like i had to p!$$ every second.. i always do that when i am outside for some reason.. it seems like i have to pee more when i am outside.
