The timing belt interval on the 2000 Civic is every 105,000. Most places change all of the drive belts, the water pump and the coolant at the same time as the timing belt and the charge is about $350-$400.

That year was also the last year for adjustable valves and conventional spark plugs. The 2000 Civic manual calls for the spark plug replacement and valve adjustment every 30,000 miles. Without a doubt, the valve adjustment is the most critical adjustment to the vehicle in terms of the performance, economy and driveability.

Oil change intervals are every 5000 miles.

Follow the care and feeding instructions from Honda and that car will easily last you 400k

Hope that helps

It sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I would say you may want to go ahead and change the timing belt I think it's usually reccomended between 90,000 and 120,000.

Edmunds trade in value is what you should have paid for it. Even Kelly Blue books trade in value. The dealer trade in value is way lower than the listed Trade in value for the two sources.

Try to see if the dealer has maintenance record in their computer.
