I hardly know of anybody over that age who does not have one. Yes i remember the Good ol days when people just left you a message on the answering machine and waited for you to call them back. Now they think they can call you at all times and if you do not answer, they leave a message saying" hey..i am calling you..why wont you pick up the phone". I now turn my cell phone off during certain times of the day. I hear kids saying "omg, my mom took my cell phone away. i think i am going to die" i want to say, I promise you will not die.

The teenagers I know without cellphones have had them taken away because they are currently being punished. I miss the good ole' days of pulling over at the nearest phone booth and making your call, or, just waiting until you made it home. Everything is so hurried as a result of cellphone usage. People have no interpersonal skills anymore, because they'd rather talk on the phone than communicate with a live person.

Well, I am 26 and I have a cell phone and so do all my friends and family. The only people I know who don't have cell phones are my grandparents and they still don't use banks for their money.

none. and yes I do. I think cell phones are over rated and that no one under the age of 16 needs to have one of thier own unless they are paying for it 100%. I do think its appropriate for a parent to loan their own cell phone to their child aged 16 or under if that child is going out for the night.
I know I'm totally old fashioned and not winning any points with the youngster....(especially because I keep calling them "child" for lack of anything else to call them....I know its sucks but techically if we're under the age of 18 we're still a "child" by law). I just get tired of seeing these kids walking around (or worse yet, driving around) with their cell phones permanently attached to their ear.
I managed to get through my teen age years just fine with out one.
