The brain is the organ inside your skull which acts as the command center for your entire existence. The mind determines what your brain decides to do. Do you want to answer more questions, or ASK more questions? Only mind can decide, while your brain tells your fingers what to do.

Mind is an abstract concept. It is the result of the activity of the brain translated into thoughts and ideas. The brain is just the material support.
One cannot exist without the other.

ABSOLUTLEY DIFFERENT!!!!
My mind tells me things....about myself, my beliefs, my preferences (my brain doesnt care one bit if I like chocolate ice cream)

It is "who I am"

My brain collects and processes information to determine the state of the enviorment and how to react to it.

It is an organ

Of course there is interaction between the two....thats why when I can recognize my name when I hear it in a room of people.

But it is also the reason why people who have "brain disorders" such as depression, anxiety, etc are effected in the feeling and "this is my state of affairs" thinking department....

But they should never confuse the disorder with what/who they are....they are totally different things

Sorry, I got on a rant there.....

The brain is a part of the mind. Its what makes it work. The brain is the physical part of our body that makes everything work- somehow but the mind is bigger than our brain. this is what i've always thought

The brain is the physical structure, while the mind is the personality, knowledge, emotional states, etc. contained within. In short, the brain is tangible, the mind, intangible.

I would think that the BRAIN is physical matter...tissue...an " organ " ?
.
MIND would be the thought that is processed in the brain. Thought, emotions (MIND) etc. are not physical matter...the brain is . . . Thus the difference . . . I think.

The brain is what makes your mind possible. It is a container that holds your mind.

I think they're different.

Consider this: Do you think to yourself "I am a brain" or do you think "I have a brain"?
