No, a sociopath does not feel guilty. A sociopath would not stop to think, Did I hurt that person? They lack emotion and a conscience.

Yes, they would admit something if they thought that the admission would help to gain your confidence. But it's not out of guilt. They'll want you to think that, but sociopaths don't actually see anything wrong with their behavior.

Yes, they can do this as part of a bigger deception to win your confidence.
And sometimes they might discuss their behavior because they view it completely different than you... like it was no big deal. Of course, they would not talk about this unless you had given them messages that you share their views.
Like attracts like; but this also means sellers attract buyers.
