Intelligent people who actually make the technology, usually know how to use it effectively. Unfortunately they feel the need to make it simple enough for people who don't know how to control themselves. 'Yes sir, just push that button and you've achieved something beyond your capabilities'

Technology has not "passed" humanity. We developed it so we are ahead of it slightly.

Yes we have computers that can design and program themselves but we created them and can understand them.

A majority of humanity has not kept pace with the technology for a number of reasons though.

Economic, political, religious, geographic, and cultural issues have slowed the spread of the technology which is readily available to everyone, everywhere, at any time now thanks to this little 12x14x1 inch box on my lap. A friend was going to throw it away because he had a newer one.

Now 25 years after computers hit the market, I am wired.Only took me a little work to figure out what to do.

cannot compare the two, technology is a tool that humanity uses.

Bad. It makes not being able to set the time on your VCR- look like kiddie porn.
