They can't relate to the common population which is led by superficial BS. Just read some of the questions and answers of the YA community. It gives you a sample of the idiots that exist in the world. Therefore, when you can't relate to people you create your own little world as a survival mechanism.

That's not entirely true. My friend is considered by many very intelligent. He can probably go to any career path that he desires. Before he got hampered by work and school, he had an active social life. Those who are not social may have interest in other things in their lives or just want to focus on other priorities.

As for "weird hobbies", what is considered a normal hobby? The notion of normal and abnormal is relative. Besides, the world needs creative and original thinkers. Human society would be very dull and stagnant without some diversity.

i'm very quiet and smart i wager so the following is a few perception: i don't have that top of self assurance and that i'm fairly shy highly round adult men so I fairly like it even as they search for suggestion from from me. i favor to understand they are attracted to me. It does no longer be weird and wonderful in any respect in case you all started a convo at the same time with her! in simple terms be sure it really is no longer throughout the time of an ungainly time. Ex: there's a mild pause contained in the style and he or she's in simple terms sitting there analyzing or something and also you're like "hi jacqueline (sorry couldn't imagine of the different call haha)! Jacqueline!" and he or she turns round and also you're like "how replaced into your weekend?" she'd probable be like "umm solid.." so in simple terms in simple terms be certain you strike a convo at the same time with her at an perfect time, which contain once you're walking via the corridor at the same time.

Thats definately a misconception. i'm sure the "intelligent people" who behave like this are in the minority as i have a couple of really smart friends and they don't believe too peculiar. i'm sure the persons you are describing are probably persons who you have never tried to interact with and who probably don't have a lot of freinds and so appear quiet or do "weird" things to occupy their time. but definately a lot of intelligent people are not quiet (weird is relative) and often are the people who voice their opinions and topics in class....but i guess it's all about fitting in so if the person feels out-of-place then they won't express themselves openly a lot. But please don't call them weird!

I'll take that as a compliment. I was often teased because I never spoke in class. I even had people say they were afraid of me because "it's always the quiet ones" that go crazy I guess.

I don't really have an answer for you but I can tell you why I was "quiet and weird." It was because I was more focused on my work and my novels than I was on having a thriving social life. People don't matter to me as much as my work. Never have. Never will.

It is rather simple. Those of us with higher IQs often have different ways of connecting information. That s why a lot of us wear odd clothes, or do "weird things". Simply we don t think like the average people; we think like us.

i think it's a misconception of the stereotypical quiet nerd. but in reality, its the smart kids who are usually outgoing. i remember in school we had colour groups and none of the teachers outright stated the classifications, but every one knew that yellow was the smartest, orange was average, green needed a little more help and understanding and red needed a lot of help and understanding. well, all the kids in the yellow group were all the popular kids. they were typically well rounded people. smart, outgoing and opinionated. but then again, im sure there are also a lot of very intelligent people who ARE quiet and weird, but not all, and not even most. i think it's the same as it is with race, religion, etc.... for example: just because some one is black does not mean they're a thief. just because someone is american does not mean they're evil, and just because someone is smart doesn't mean they're quiet and weird, all different types of smarts just as all different types of race...etc.

I think a lot of intelligent people are so wrapped up in their intellectual pursuits that they aren't particularly adept at handling social situations, as it isn't what they'd like to spend their free time doing anyway. Not a positive or a negative, just the way things are.

That's because they are watching every move that you make and figuring you out. Ah ha ah ah!

Seriously. That all depends on personality. I think of myself a pretty smart and I have hobbies, and I am social. Some intellects may chose not to say anything because you may not understand it.
