If your high school has a drama department, start there. If not, check the local community college, sign up for a night time drama class. From there you can audition for the community college productions and start getting experience. With that experience you can gradually move on to bigger and better auditions, productions and such.

Ah, lucky you. You live in California. The rest of us have to deal with living on the other side of the country where nothing is going on. 1. Only 7% of Actors are well known,or rich. The rest of them do it for the love of it. Chances are, you won't be rich or famous, and you have to be okay with that. 2."Just Jumping In" Isn't possible. You can't just go up to an agency and say "I'm Here! I'm Ready! Give me work!" They'll just stare at you and ask you to leave. 3.If you can get a modeling contract, that's a good start,I suppose. But theater is a better choice because it's actually acting. It looks good on the resume. 4.You're first steps should be to do some theater at school or some other local productions. Try to take a class or get an acting coach. GET HEADSHOTS, they have to look like you and represent your personality. Try to get an agent. It's easiest to get an agent through your manager. Ask your agent about the things you want, and they'll get you auditions. You have to nail the audition to get the role, obviously. 5.If there is anything else you have a passion for besides acting,do that instead. I can't think of anything else, so I'm stuck with it. =) Good Luck!

Get involedin local drama things, then if you are sure this is what you want to do join a casting agency. Take all the jobs you can get even if it is just extras, so when you get a good rep casting directors can see you have got experience. join a drama school out of normal class, get good grades so when you are between jobs you can still get in some cash, remember dont expect to be overloaded with offers when you start you have to earn and work really hard to make it, its a very big commitment.

everybody wants a resumee...your not even going to get into any serious casting calls without anykind of background...so go to a local thearter group, or star in your school play...go to some sort of kids acting classes or personal lessons...but be warned that though you are a young kid and following your dreams are what they tell you to do...some people do spend a lifetime at the bottum and that dream of yours is in these days, at an extremely high level...you know there can only be so many people on the stage, got to be some to watch it!

You can either try to join an actor's troupe, or go to college and study theatre. While you're waiting to be accepted, study as much Shakespeare as you can, and start memorizing monologues.
Try to have at least two or three monologues fresh, ready to roll off the tip of your tongue. Practice in front of the mirror.

join the HS drama club, it seems lame but it's free experience, participate in plays, make your resume with head shots go to casting calls if you're in the area, consider it scoping the scene and don't feel bad that you don't get the first one.
