How will I know or how will I be able to "notice" if someone has hacked into my computer?????
And how can I put a firewall up?

Install Norton Internet Security. One of the prompts is if you want to be notified of certain alerts...you say yes. Everytime someone tries to break into the firewall, you will receive an alert and with a little knowledge can actually track who tried. Most of the times hackers use computers to reandonly scan networks and it isn't necessarily someone actually physically at the PC.

You will know when you get a bill for something you have not purchased or when your computer starts responding like it has been drinking.
Be careful where you go, what you open, and what you click.
On my computer, I have the Windows firewall on. It is in the Control Panel. I also have Norton AV but have turned Norton's firewall off. Two firewalls will only conflict and inasmuch as Windows loads before Norton, I feel it is the better option.
