My friend got a new computer, I *think* it's an Apple. To do the updates she opens the command line thingy, and types "?xxxxxx? upgrade". And it does all the updates, and stuff automatically - she just closes the window 15mins later when it's all completed.

Beats the cr*p outta sitting their clicking "install", "yes", "express", etc, etc... on Windows XP which is on my computer.

Is there a way to do this on Windows XP, ie...

* Via the command thingy, so I don't have to "watch" my computer when it does it's updates?

There isn't a command line entry that will acomplish as far as I know. That is already built in to xp. But, you can set your updates to download and install automatically. go to the control panal and click on automatic updates icon and chage to the disired setting.

I don't have a Mac but I've heard they are very good. There must be an option for "automatic updates." I suggest your friend click the help button and see if there is an option for "User Guide."

Check this list. It is specifically for Macs and automatic update.
