videos dont play in media player i upgraded to vista, and have no sound it says i need a codec can someone?

then click on "free download"

you should have it from there

Try downloading the appropriate Vista codec pack. Search over on Majorgeeks.com

If it's a Dell computer you need to go to dell support web site and search in here for info.
