BCCI have already appointed bowling and fielding coaches and Ravi Shastri as Coach-***-Manager for the forthcoming tour of Bangladesh., They have also directed the selectors to welect a young team for Bangladesh. They should now unearth some promising talented youngsters and make a pool of about 30 players, so that before each tournament the performance of individual players in the previous tournament can be assessed and if any particular player was a failure, he can be replaced by a player from the pool of 30 players.
If this process is followedd, in course of time not only India will have a strong team, but also good bench strength.

In place of Sachin, Ganguli, Dravid, Sahawag, and Harbhajan India should bring new players 18 to 20 age group. Jahir, Irfan Pathan should also be removed. Ravi Shashtri shall be a good coach. Dinesh Kartick may be made captain.

Cricket, like any sport, is to be played by young people in the age group 15 to 25...may be up to 28. Rarely do we see Olympic sports persons older than 28, although there are exceptions...which any way cannot be considered normal. India has about 200 million youngsters in the age group 15 to 25, and IF WE CANNOT SELECT SOME ELEVEN CRICKET PLAYERS TO BEAT THE WORLD IN CRICKET (IN FACT IN ANY SPORTS FOR THAT MATTER), like our Government planning and implementation, THERE IS TOTAL CORRUPTION, NEPOTISM, MAFIA CULTURE ...etc which is robbing away the achievement potentials.
This writer feels that NO OLDER PEOPLE (INCLUDING SO CALLED EXPERIENCED CRICKETERS LIKE GAVASKAR/ KAPIL DEV/ RAVI SHASTRI...etc) SHOULD BE INVOLVED IN ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE MODERN GAME. There should be a total revamping whereby ORDINARY VILLAGE LEVEL TEAMS SHOULD BE MADE TO BE FORMED INTO ZONAL TEAMS, PURELY ON MERIT, and the final selection should be based on PURE MERIT. Forget about Tendulkar or Dravid or Ganguly, who had their days. But it does not mean we belittle what they have achieved; but their historical achievements should not over ride current selection norms...that would have to based on pure merit. Whether a COACH is needed or not depends on the TEAM itself. they must decide..not OUTSIDE FORCES WHO ARE NOT GOING TO BE THERE IN THE MIDDLE.

You need to select a team that wants to play instead of worrying about endorsements and blaming the coach.
