The UK controls the Falklands.
Argentina, however, claims the "Islas Malvinas" as their own. (Same Islands, different name.) They are encouraging Britain to open up peaceful negociaations concerning the islands. However, the current inhabitants of the islands are mostly of British ancestory, and it has been controlled by Britain for over a 100 years now. (Even though Argentina did try to forcibly control it in the 80s war.)

The United Kingdom controls it, but Argentina claims it (the claim is in their constitution, so it probably won't be going away anytime soon). They fought over it during the Falklands War, and the British won.
