I wouldn't say dumb in a way because I think people are born closed minded, when it comes to any controversial struggle that is faced to them. If everyone was a bit more open minded there wouldn't be any war, struggle, gay rights, or anything out of the ordinary, a perfect world. Highly doubt it will happen any time soon but here is hoping.

When god created humans, he made them all without any brains. One day when he saw them moving about aimlessly, smacking each other, walking into trees, falling into water and drowning, patting rattle snakes and getting bit, etc, he thought, "I guess I better give these folks some brains, eh!" So he called out to them and asked them to bring something to catch the brains which he was going to throw out to them. Some came with pots and pans, some even brought baseball gloves, some brought huge urns (I think that might have been Albert Eisenstein), and yet a lot of them showed with fishing nets. The fishing net guys lost out because all the brains which god threw their way went right through the net and fell to the ground. Thus, we have the origination of dumb people. Were they born this way or was it because they had nothing to catch brains but fishing nets? Now that's another debate.

Dumb as in stupid? I think there is a pronounced difference in breeding. I mean, if you're born of incest, chances are slim that you'll have a 'genius gene'. There are some definite dumbasses out there who were just born that way, but it mostly is dependent on your upbringing and capacity for reason and logic. People can start devolving at an early age. I just try to avoid stupid people all together. You can't win in an argument with them. They just drag you down to their level and beat you with their experience.

We are all born with certain talents...
and we are given the human body for a certain reason, which is to develop our self.
So, we are born with the basics, and we have to become better out of it.
So if you choose to not do anything and stay the way you are, then ya...you chose to stay dumb.

I think it's a choice, because I do remember actually choosing to be not dumb when I was little.

I believe they choose it. I don't have a problem with dumb people per se. I have dumb friends. I just don't really want them teaching my children in school, babysitting, or going to my church. I just worry for their soul, that's all.

Are you serious? Who in their right mind would choose to be dumb?
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but your question is dumb.

Mostly I think it is parental influence, especially in the early years.
Buggie, your charge could have a future in information technology.
if the trolls are being referred to then they take the easy path and take delight in the pickings from the desert of their minds.
