When you see a Homeless person?

Question

What is your normal response???

Do you offer to help with cash, coin in ash tray, buy food?

Or do you look the other way?

I buy food and give cash.....There but for the Grace of God...Go I....... Really touches me...more when they have an animal with them!!

Offer to purchase a meal or buy groceries that are easily opened without the need of a can opener.

I feel compassion and sorrow for the homeless, I can think of
myself if I was ever in that position and I don't know how they
survive because I couldn't handle it.
The way things are today with so many factory closings and
businesses run right out of the country , and the tough
competition for jobs with younger or more educated peeps , it
makes it very difficult for some people to get a job or hold one.I think the working poor needs help, the poor usually can
get into programs and the rich can take care of themselves, so usually the old middle class now known as the working poor are the most at risk . One bad illness can wipe a person out and make them homeless, even when your have medical insurance. The homeless are not just the old welfare groups
of yesteryear but are some people who had serious problems and not always at fault for it.

Great question! I try to give money even though I can't give a whole lot. I guess you could say these past few weeks, I've been helping a homeless person. My sister is without anything right now. Hopefully, things will get better. She starts work tomorrow.

I very seldom give them anything. I was watching this guy with his wife and 2 kids with the will work for food sign. Every time a cop was in the area they would hide. One time, a friend of theirs met them there and the friend and hubby went to their trunk and pulled out a beautiful set of golf clubs the hubby had just bought, and they were discussing the golf game they had planned for later that day.

Funny you should ask this, Yes..when i can afford to I give a little money and completely sympathize with them. Years ago I was homeless and had nothing but my dog. It kept me company and warm and some love. The only positive thing in my life then. Then I got my S*!T together and gave up the drugs and never looked back!

I give food...there was a big scam going on in the city here...lots of panhandlers that turned out to be fakes...I was so mad! There were a few times when I was out of a job that I stopped and gave some of my groceries to a guy that was panhandling...my brother saw the same guy a few months later as he put his wheelchair into his SUV and drove off. I was livid! But, just yesterday morning, I gave a cup of hot tea to a homeless guy that was sleeping out in the 25 degree weather...so I guess it didn't scar me too badly! :D

I don't like to give cash to anyone....if they have an animal with them I would probably just buy them food that is easy to store and easy to eat...and buy the animal some pet food.....

I live in the city of Philadelphia(FYI)... homelessness is prevalent because its a metropolis... anyways,I used to give money and everytime friends would always say to me "dont give them money for drugs" so instead, I will give or buy food.

im not old enough to have my own money from a salary, but when im older ill probably give food, because there are some homeless who will spend money on other things, and there are some people who pose as homeless which i find very sad...

I buy food for them. NEVER give them cash!!
Recently i bought one a posterboard and a pen to make a sign.
