The thing I like to do is free write. I write whatever comes to mind and pay no attention to punctuation and spelling. Then, when I look it over and try to make sense of it, I find myself with new ideas and inspirations. It works for me.

When I get writer's block, I tend to take some time to myself or make up silly games to play with my daughter...clear my head...get away from the piece I am working on. Sometimes, taking a walk helps.....nature is a very inspiring thing. It may take a few days, but eventually, I always get whatever piece I am writing finished.

Good luck!!

O, this question haunts me...

I think giving it time (however long it takes if you're not in a rush) and writing something down, even if you hate it. Tweak with it, edit, cut, chop... eventually, your juices will start to flow and perhaps the start of an idea will come on.

What's worse than writer's block is writer's cone... you just can't seem to get to the point...

Three tacks to take: (1) take a break, then get back to it; (2) write about something else, anything, tell about you doing the laundry; or (3) read stuff others have written on your subject--you might get new ideas or you might simply say "I could have said that better" and then you are ready to try again.

Good luck.

When I do, I say "Ok Now" out loud and then Start typing thoughts until your creativity returns. Afterwards you go back and edit out the irrelevant or unwanted sentences.
