We all knew shortly after the invasion that Bush and his amateurs were grossly mishandling the situation in Iraq. Republicans should be ashamed and embarrassed.

None of this supriseS those of us who knew the idiot was incompetent when he was still running for president.

All anyone with a brain would have had to do is check the mans record as governor of Texas and his past experience as a spoiled brat mommas boy whose daddy fixed all his messes. Those who were impressed by his Yale and Harvard education could have looked a little further to see that his daddy got him in both schools with money and made sure he got passing grades....the "old boy" system was in play.

Those with a lick of sense might have questioned his draft dodging activities when daddy got him into the Air National Guard - he couldn't have passed the entry test...then he thumbed his nose at his obligation there and managed to be AWOL a good portion of the time - with no consequences...thanks to daddys money.

What he knows about the world, about war, about Iraq or any other country could be summed up in a coupla words:

NOT MUCH!

Well, Larry G, pray tell, democrats wouldn't have dropped bombs on country that BY KNOWN ACKNOWLEDGED FACT NOW did not have a connection to Al-Quaeda. Remember them ? They're the people in the country about 5 thousand miles to the west of Iraq.

Even Bush himself has all but admitted there was not a connection at the time.

Only Satan's first mate (Cheney) is stubbornly sticking to the old well disproved assertion.

That is how, pray tell, Larry G, the democrats would have done a better job.

I am beginning to think that the real reason Bush wants to funnel more dollars and young lives into that mess is because he and his advisors are ashamed of what they have done and now feel that they have to stay and try to fix it. The huge problem is that they don't know how! And I doubt that anyone knows how! The fact is, it's now every American's problem, because our government is responsible for it. But, it takes a real man to admit he is wrong and humble himself, and Bush is not that man, unfortunately.

You are fundamentally wrong, which is something of an epidemic among liberals.

The president did the right thing in invading Iraq. Congress was nearly unanimous in supporting him. However, as soon as the going got tough, it was the democrats who sought political advantage by deliberately undermining the president and the military.

Things in Iraq would have gone much better and in fact the insurgency defeated, if the democrats had maintained their support for the effort.

Instead, they sided with Osama Bin Ladin. It was he who is on record as saying that America is strong but can be defeated by a prolonged resistance. He believed and the democrats have done everything they can to make it so, that once we started taking casualties and the cost escalated we would quit.

The enemy hears and reads copies of every statement made by the democrats and liberals of America as they cry for our withdrawal. You have to be an idiot to think this does not encourage the enemy to keep fighting.

Had they heard nothing from America but support for the mission and dedication to victory, they would have quit and the various factions in Iraq would have come together seeking political parody.

one guy spins this by saying "how would the Democrats have handled this"... in reality, how do you possibly spin something like this? another says we should stay and fix it. How do you do that when it has gotten worse each and every year? should we be there forever??

the saddest part of all of this is that it shouldn't have ever happened. we should not have been there in the first place.

I saw that too. Isn't it funny how John Kerrys words keep coming back to a ring of truth. Not saying that our boys over there are retards but maybe the whole military is lacking.

I like the admission of Bremer that his efforts were "micromanaged by the Whitehouse"--Dee Dee Dee--as if we haven't figured that out already.

No Clue-no plan--but hey, let's bomb Iran next--Yeahhh!

You know how Muslims chant: Allah is great?

Well, the right wingers have this practiced thing going where they kneel on their prayer rugs, face east at sunrise, and chant "Bush is great"

The are ashamed and embarresed about a war, but it's not the Iraq war. It's the stupidity of your political party.... They're not going to do any better, and more people are going to die.
