So, will Tiger "blame" Jesus for losing?
"Christ kept my ball from going into the cup."
"The Lord gave me a Double Bogie on 14."
I find it very stupid.

umm i am a christian as well and he didnt "thank jesus", he said he could feel jesus walking with him the whole way. dont you think jesus had something better to do on easter sunday? it is like saying all the other players are devil worshippers and god wanted zach to win.
i find this outrageous. i wouldnt have a problem at all if he thanked god for giving him the opportunity to play in the masters or win it for that matter, but saying he was walking with him, and it is nothing more than the work of god is ridiculous. zach, you won the masters because you worked hard on your game and performed better than all the other players. yes, god gave you the opportunity to compete in this and you should thank him, but he did not help you win!

he gives glory to God and Jesus every day. The family is very into the Church. His mother is employed in the Religious Ed office. I was in the same grade as a sibling of his. He was simply giving thanks where he should have--with the one who created him and gave him the opportunity to be here, and have his family around him while his dream came true.

Not stupid at all, perhaps what he meant was thank you for clearing the obstacles out of my life so that I could win?
I hate religious intolerance. Honestly, a person thanks a spiritual being for something good in his life and YOU have a problem with that, not even knowing the person? Live and let live.

Well, he asked Jesus to help him win. Its really not a hard concept. Jesus helped him to win. Its not stupid at all. Don't you say thanks when your friends help you out? You don't know Jesus? Its all about RELATIONSHIP. Not what you are or what you DO. He is still alive, actively doing many many things. He will interceed for you.

The Bible says in everything give thanks and praise.
It seems that Zach Johnson probably does that quietly each day, just between himself and God. He probably also thanks Jesus when things are not quite so rosy. Why should he not say it aloud if posed the question in his winning moment?
