Try the original "The Producers". It starred Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder. It was Mel Brooks' first movie and he got an academy award for it.

You know, Jenny.....I too like Young Frankenstien and Blazing Saddles. Spaceballs also was cute, too. Mel Brooks had a special trademark blend of slapstick, vaudville and well timed comedy--that barely went past obscene......to be found hilarious by MILLIONS world wide.
Mel Brooks was to the USA what Benny Hill was to the UK.
Actually, Brooks I think, versus Hill, would come out on top.

For me Gene Wilder films are either a homerun or a fizzle..
I really enjoyed the likes of young frankenstein..
but hated most of the movies he made with richard pryor such as bullet train?..speed train or whatever that one where they ended up dressing like chickens...
Blazing saddles was brilliant.. I loved the way that Mel twisted around sterotypes of the black sheriff.
I also am a devoted fan of spaceballs...and find myself quoteing it offen..like..we haven't found **** yet
