well, ok so i have a question for you. if you could e-mail me the answer or just add it to your additonal details that would be great
my question is, why can't you get a green card? or a visa? that would help you out a lot. instead of coming to america and not paying taxes. the thing you probably don't know is that we as americans, when we have a job the goverment and state take out money from our paychecks and thats called taxes. now immigrants do not pay taxes and so it's harder on us americans because we are picking up your slack. now we have to pay your taxes, so more money gets taken out of our pay checks. and for me i don't need thats because me and my husband already have enough money problems to worry about.

Sneaking into another peoples' country illegally is not a very good way to being a life and get all the good things available.
As far as I'm concerned, you sound like a great young man, with good goals, and perhaps a good work ethic. Someone that would be a true asset to the United States. I hope you will have an opportunity to become legal. Am in favor of amnesty for long term residents, and then a total and complete clamp down on illegal trafficking into the USA.
Controlling ones borders is a RIGHT of countries. It's an important right, but should be designed to let the best of the best into another country to help that person and the adopted country as well. Laws, and respect for laws made the USA what it became.
Please remember, although there will always be prejudice, little of it has to do with skin color. By and large people of all races are treated with dignity in the USA if they maintain themselves to the standards of the country to which they have entered. Later, when you are a citizen, then you can vote for changes, and the Latino vote is big and powerful.
For now, good luck to you. Study as hard as you can, get the best education you can, so even if you go back to your home country you will have better educational skills to work with, and perhaps next time you can enter legally.

I'm all for immigrants coming here the right way. I know sometimes it is a matter of fleeing a bad situation, so I don't judge. I guess what Americans are having a problem with is that it's bad for you and bad for us. As far as taxes go, we get the short end of the stick, as far as becoming a citizen, you do. The process should be a little easier. So don't assume everyone is against you. Just do what it takes to make the most of your life. If you stick with the attitude that everyone is a racist...then perception is everything and that will be your reality. There will always be someone out there who doesn't like you or agree with you...but you can choose to be bothered by it or to do your thing. I commend you for wanting to make a better life for yourself. Just go about it the way you need to and you have nothing to worry about.

Growing up with very conservative parents, I was taught that illegal aliens should simply be sent back to their own country, and they have nothing to offer. I had the opportunity to work in a restaurant a couple of years back when I was attending college, where I worked with many illigal aliens from Mexico. My experiences at that restaraunt shaped my opinion on this issue. These individuals were hard working, and like you, wanted to become citizens. I had a great time learning from them, and they had a great time learning from me. The best advice I can give to you is to find a mentor or a public program who will support you in your goals of becoming a citizen. Learn English. Learn how to write proper English. Learn interviewing and career skills. Start at the bottom, but never give up on taking on new challenges or continuing your education. Do believe in yourself. As stated before, there are non-profit organizations who will coach you on becoming a U.S. citizen. If you have the drive, there is a place for you in the United States. All cultures are beautiful cultures, and it sounds like you have just come in contact with ignorant people. Keep your head up, and don't give up!

I am all for making a better life for yourself. I just think that it needs to be done legally. If you are here illegally and using someone else's SSN, then you are damaging their SS and maybe other aspects of their identity.
Furthermore, I also believe that every nation has the right to protect their borders and insist that those wishing to enter follow the laws and do so legally. No one has the right to sneak into another country and then demand that they be given a better life when they started off by breaking the rules in the first place.
As to the needed labor, I am all for enforcing the laws that we have and forcing employers to pay better wages to have a workforce that they don't have to hide. I think that it is disgusting that the illegal workforce is treated so shabbily by employers - I also worked in restaurants, and I could tell who the people were who were not here legally by the hours they worked and the way they were treated.
Finally, if you are going to move to another country that speaks a different language than your own, then you need to learn it. We are looking into working in Germany, and I am studying German. I don't want to be handicapped by not being able to speak the language of the people around me.

Both my parents were illegal immigrants, one is now a resident, though is not allowed to vote, despite the fact that she has paid taxes for over 10 years, has all her legal papers, owns a house, has 2 kids (my brother and I who are both U.S citizens.) My dad is still in the process of trying to obtain his residence. For those of you who say study hard and pass the test, It is not that easy. I think it's safe to say you couldnt pass the test and you grew up learning the history. I am taking an Advanced Placement U.S. history class and at the moment I doubt I could pass the test. It takes alot of work, and it could literally take years, perhaps over a decade to becoma a legal citizen. Some people just don't have that kind of time. Their families are starving, and they just want to keep their family alive. Wouldnt you want to? And just so you know, many illegel immigrants do pay taxes (though it is with fake papers). They still do their part. but yes their are people who use government money and don't work, that does not mean all of them are like that. The majority of immigrants are hard workers just trying to support their families. They take jobs no one else wants and businesses need them. (My aunt recently lost her job because she was illegal, the hotel fired over 3/4 of their staff because they were illegal, not even a week later they were all rehired because the hotel had no other resource to clean) And I know numerous high school graduates that cannot go to college because they are illegal, and it could take years for them to become legal to get a fair education. Most immigrants are just trying to better themselves, people just don't seem to get that.

Let me congratulate you on being here legally! It shows you (or your parents) respect our Law. America was founded by immigration for MANY countries. We still welcome others to come here because our country was founded on the principles that ALL people are created equal and should be treated so UNDER THE LAW.
Legal immigration is great, illegal immigration is a violation of the law and violaters are criminals and should be treated as such. It is the difference between inviting someone to your house of having someone break in.
If your Cousins have to take low paying jobs because they are not legal, then GOOD!!!
YOU have every right to get a better life for yourself because you (or your parents) immigrated legally and again I commend you for it.

All immigrants come here for the right reason, to live and have a better life. I dont know why they (the political people) get fussy about it, well I guess because they try to live here without being a citizen but they are just coming to live a good life. I know lots of illegal immigrants right now and I dont care that they are illegal, they are just doing what they are trying to do which is what I said, have a better life, I just dont like how they are offered/working low-paying jobs and get fewer opportunities

my take on illegal immigrants is the following: has nothing to do with color just comes down to illegal immigrants deliberately breaking the law by sneaking into this country compromising the nation's security and further breaking the law by lowering the quality standards of this country, spreading diseases, and god knows what else. I'm curious as to whether the illegals are the saints they claim to be when the are in this country or are they the main contributing factors in the many problems plaguing this society.
