Mine always lasted 7 days, 2 to 3 heavy days, the rest were light days. This is something you really need to discuss with your doctor. Sometimes the pill helps to regulate your period. Diet and exercise can also determine how often and duration of the cycle.

Are the girls that are having 3 day long periods on birth control? Maybe thats why their periods aren't lasting long.

The normal period lasts 5-7 days. Mine are around 6 days.
