We are our reality, this is the logical conclusion to all premise...
want some examples?
Okay...
Scientific:
All things are energy, photonic resonance is the primal matter of all reality including peeps ;P
both us and our reality, same thing then.
Philosophical:
Oneness of all creation.
Self explanatory.
Biblical:
The fullness of him which is in all things - Is the church - which is us. Us equals All Things equals... we are our reality.
Do we create ourselves?
The definition of self is important, so the holy men urge all to be holy and perfect to define themselves as they are, a very revealing expose that few are keen on.
I'm sure you wanted a simpler answer than that.... And the simple answer is yes, I believe we create our reality at all times, this is the purest of pure free will, a divine gift, perfect in it's simplicity, untainted pure love from a loving creator.
But the child climbs out from the wool wrap and goes base jumping from cliffs.

No, the dictionary definition of reality is that "the world or state of things as they actually exist as opposed to an idealistic or notional idea of them." Space, time, even dimensions (i.e. width, height, and depth) are all considered part of reality, they are parts of the world that exist in a constant. They are not effected by ideas or notions, because they are not able to be effected in a major way by humans. Especially time and space. If we created our own reality time and space would not be a line in which to travel or even a large circle as some debate, instead it would be more or less like a weird scribbled children's painting that could be crossed continuously forever. Time travel would be a matter of altering reality. Space travel also. Anyway enough with technical mambo jumbo. We are not in the Matrix no matter how much the movies made it look realistic.

Subjective reality can be great! Objective reality is easier to argue. In my opinion we have all created a collective reality that is easy to accept because we can reasonably predict the results of various scenarios. However this is not to say that this reality is the truth as it was agreed upon by subjective means. I guess what I'm saying is OUR reality is created by US but isn't a part of EVERY ONES reality until it can be verified by science. I don't believe anyone knows the one true reality, I think our interpretations are flawed.

It's all relative. Ask a cop at a crime scene. If there's 40 witnesses, there'll be 40 different perception/memories of what occurred.
There may be one concrete reality of what happened, but you have asked do we create our own reality... and since we are enslaved to our own perceptions (our senses and how we process them) the answer has to be yes.
Another example.. I'm red-green colour blind. Likewise, non-colour blind people each see colours slightly differently. 5% of women see colours no other humans see. If our senses vary that much in such 'simple' fundamental ways, multiply it by a thousand when looking at the complex bigger questions.

If so I am doing a really bad job of it. LOL
In a way we so, and that would be by the decisions we make, and how we react to things.
There are certian things that are absolute realiety.
Sociopathic people do an exelent job of creating their own reality. The big problem with that is that the people around them either get confused or have mental breakdowns around them.

I think our conditioning creates much of our reality! We are mostly unaware that we were a "clean slate" when we were born and our parents/society set about imprinting/programing us. This program makes choices, on all levels, accordingly.
Our life reflects this programing. The only way to alter this and live another reality is to not listen to the unending thoughts. Ignore thoughts, accept for the everyday practical stuff, and the life will take on an unexpected newness.

Whatever we perceive or believe seems just as real - whether it is or not.
But there are too many variables in the lives of those around us - frequently those we love - which impact us greatly.....yet we had no part in creating the situation. (Think an alcoholic husband, or a dying father, or a sister planning her wedding day.)
So I would have to say yes and no....yes, we can imagine an awful lot and believe it to be real......and no, we don't control everything that happens to us, regardless of what we think about it.

Undoubtedly. There are those people who can be happy with nothing. There are also those who have unlimited opportunity but are miserable. Life is definitely what we make it.
