Just wondering why nobody brought any parachutes during 9/11. This would have definitely helped the people trapped on the top of the WTC buildings.

Because parachutes are not standard emergency equipment in high rise buildings, fire extinguishers are.
Two, the average common person does not know nor receives training how to operate one.
Three: Base jumping (Jumping from a building) Is dangerous and requires special training. If you do not know what you are doing, you will get hurt.
Four: There is a certain height for a chute to work properly and open completely and still needs time to slow someone down to make a safe descent. The world trade center is not it.
You would hit the ground before the chute would open or even get a chance to slow you down.
Five: Parachutes are not standard emergency equipment in high rise buildings, fire extinguishers are.

Because there probably weren't any. You have to understand everyone already was in a state of panic, Do you think they were thinking, "Oh lets go grab a a parachute." No, they were thinking of running and fleeing away from the building, not finding creative ways to get out. Also the people in the planes probably most definably died on impact because of the fire and trauma. Think about that!!!!

I think all the vending machine operators had snacks smuggled in to fill them instead of parachutes so that on this particular day no one would be able to parachute to safety.
Oh, BTW...did you think of this Q yourself or did some 4 yr old get you to post it for him/her?

No one brought parachutes because no one had an inkling that some whacko camel-jockeys were going to crash planes into buildings; that's not something that happens every day.

It wouldn't have been that simple to just jump out a window. Though I do remember seeing an ad for chutes for jumping out of buildings AFTER 911.
