Base five is simple. We usually use a base ten system. When we get past nine we start with a second digit at 1-0 (or ten). With the base five system, you start with a second digit after four. So base five goes like this: 1, 2, 3, 4, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 110, 111, 112....
You never see the number 5.
