I do. I write when I am in high spirits as a way to try and share it, and also when I'm sad or angry, trying to let off steam.

Absolutely. It is a way of expressing your feelings because sometimes you don't always have someone to tell.

I write a lot. It keeps me sane. I don't share my feelings with others very often, so writing helps me get any negative feelings out of my system. And it also helps me figure things out when I am confused. I can write the whole situation down, look it over, and decide how I should proceed. I think it is the best therapy for me. I have been to psychologists before, I really don't like them.

Writing is a good way to get rid of your anger. It is best to leave it for a few day then reread it and it may help you see a clearer picture and come to a proper decision on how you are going to deal with the matter. You are writing to share it. With whom? I do write but it is not for sharing, it is so I can look back on what I have written and cheer myself up if I am feeling low, or placing the facts of a problem down on paper can help you see a clearer picture and so aid myself in making decisions.

Yes I do write as therapy. I have kept a journal off and on since I was in High School. It is theraputic to go back and read and see the things I have come through, worked through, accomplished, etc. My two daughters have gotten into the habit of writing, also.

I used to, but I'm too busy these days. Sometimes if I have something really bothering me I will still write about it, or will do a whole pros/cons process. I have stuff going back over 30 years, although every time I go through it I throw out the most negative stuff I come across because it takes me right back to that place and I don't want to feel it anymore. It's very interesting to have that sort of record of your life and thoughts.

I write most of the time as a form of therapy. Even in my short stories I find a form of therapy ~ partially as I learn about myself through it too.

Some things I want to share, others I'm perhaps happy to keep to myself.

Keeping a journal is I think is a useful tool too (even though I don't do so).

Sash.

I usually write when I have too much on my mind and it's really bothering me to the point of not being able to sleep or relax because my mind won't stop. I find when I write during these times and I mean just really write what's in my head without stopping to think or reread it, it helps so much to clear my mind and I usually feel much better. When I finish writing, I close the book and put it away until next time. It is very cathartic.

I'm battling cancer right now, and I use writing as a way to deal with all the emotions that go with it. I hope that whether I survive or not my journals will provide some comfort for anyone who reads them. I say comfort because it is scary but not as scary as the unknown.

I keep an on off diary. usually i only right in it when something that i can't handle or fully comprehend happens. so it tends to just get my highs and lows but i find it calming when I'm bubbling with excitement or anticipation and soothing when I'm stressed or unhappy. Also i find it highly amusing when I read entries from years ago. Greatest form of therapy I've ever found!

Yes I do. Sometimes I write a letter then never send it. Sometimes I write my way through "the work" ( www.thework.com ).

Looking at all the comments I see here, I must be a very good typist, as I can generally type and spell properly at the same time.

I write all the time, it helps me to let out any emotions that I have been storing up. I think that people use all different ways to let out what they are feeling and you have found out, just like me that writing is the perfect thing.
