Hi, I was wondering where can I get a job in Raleigh, NC. I am 13 years old. My hobbies and qualities are that I am an excellent writer, I am also a hard worker and dedicate myself to whatever I am doing. I know that there are not very many jobs for a person of my age. Ok, first off, dont listen to the guy above. Those things are scams. Second, there are child labor laws that prohibit people from hiring anyone under 16 in most states. try getting red cross certified and getting a lifeguarding job or babysitting. This is goos extra cash, though not constant, learn how to save.

you wont get a job like what you're looking for (computers, animals, etc.) because they would most likely hire someone older. You could try going to independent small shops or stores to get a job. i dont even think burger king or mcdonalds hire ppl your age. but firstly you cant get a job without a workers permit. i live in winston, nc and i know i needed to get a worker's permit jus saying that you cant work certain hours on school nights

Lots of reasons why employers are smart NOT to hire people under 18 years old. But you are not without opportunities - like self employment where your customers or clients do not need to know your age. But there are legal pitfalls - like business licenses, taxes, bank accounts, credit etc. Be creative and see how you can use your talents to earn money.
