1. The earth isn't getting warmer. Everyone's thermometer is broken.
2. The earth is getting warmer but CO2 concentrations have nothing to do with it.
3. The earth is getting warmer but so is Neptune so it must have something to do with the sun.
4. The earth is getting warmer and CO2 concentrations are the reason but it's all part of a natural cycle that has nothing to do with humans.
5. The earth is getting MUCH warmer in the past 25 years and higher CO2 concentrations is the reason - but it's so bad we can't stop it now.

My favorite is when they say that without co2 all plants will die and then we'll die....this is a dumb debate tool. Yes we all know we need co2 to survive, but the co2 that is being produced is way way more than the atmosphere can handle without creating a greenhouse effect. This is an example of refusing to understand the science of something and refuting it with a personal, ignorant response....pretty shallow really.

And to answer "Ruth" they are being debunked all the time...this is another ignorant response....and though not my favorite, is once again refusing to listen to the argument, making up a fantasy, and ignoring countless articles and web site showing the science. If you want to be informed, investigate and read...don't just start opening your mouth. I've seen numerous examples of people putting scientific web sites on the questions and answers...do you think this is all made up...that 5000 climate scientists from around the world (the best in the entire field) are lying and that people not in the field are the ones who have the real answer?

1. You cannot have consensus in science. Science either is or is not. All the consensus that liberals spout off is a fraud.

2. The statistics are not conclusive. There is a few hundred years of actual temperature data and hundreds of millions of years of Earth. The margin of error is so large, it would be larger than any change in temperature.

3. How did we get out of the ice ages that liberals in the 1970's stated we would have again if we did not stop impacting the environment?

4. The story changes all the time. First it was cooling, then acid rain, then warming, now climate change.

5. Liberals push their propaganda and opinion on young kids. They are forced to see the Al Gore movie without any rebuttal. Anyone who acts like this is scum

6. Many of the warming supporters are communists and anti capitalists. These people have an agenda and use emotional issues to push their agenda.

You forgot to list the SUN as the reason for global warming. That is the most plausible reason. CO2 makes up such a small percentage of the atmosphere. The CO2 theory is being forced upon us to justify a new gas tax. Don't fall for it.

Wrong! That is not how rules of logic operate. The proponent of the theory must withstand any challenge. I should know, since I practice law. I can raise 5 defenses to a charge, and they are almost always mutually exclusive (cannot all be true). The burden is on the proponent of the evidence.

My list of dumb conservative excuses:

- Record low temperatures these days. (Some Republican senator)

- Illness from "global warming" is caused by impurities in the environment, in our air and water that are natural, not caused by human activity. (George W Bush)

- Global warming is a purely natural event (sort of true, except that we humans are accelerating it by a factor of 350+!) (Some petroleum ad)

- Global warming is good because it will make us all warmer, and offer northern climates better agriculture land ( coal company ad)

- Global warming is a socialist scheme intended to deprive the world's richest countries of their wealth (Stephen Harper, Canadian Prime Minister).

Actually, saving the earth will save money in the long run. Those who deny it are narrow minded right wing people intent on saving money in the short run. And they aren't really saving money for the nation! Consider the tobacco industry! They make money by selling their crappy tobacco products. WE must pay our taxes to treat those with cancer, and other illnesses. The same thing with the petroleum and coal industries. Unfortunately, the right is too short-sighted to see that.
