Yes and I tell them to pay me back before asking for more. (by the way, I like that gnome picture you use :-)

I will go with both. Some honestly feel they will pay you back by a certain day and don't worry too much about the consequences because it's family. Then you have others who just use that just to get money and they know damn well they aren't going to pay you back! Goes to show, you can't trust anyone with money, even family.

Yes. I lent a friend a five dollar bill because she had no lunch, promised to pay me at the end of the week and two days later asked for more money! I never got it back.

Shakespeare warned, "neither borrower nor lender be." If it is a friend that needs money, make it a gift. If they need more than you can afford, they need to go to a bank (or their parents). If they ask again, you need to ask yourself, "what is the value of the friendship?" If the money means more than the friendship, or the friendship is based on the money, it is not a frienship to be valued.

No that has not happened but I do have a lot of people that owe me some money that I really don't see ever getting back but I sure will never loan it to them again

Yes, one of my waitresses. Her husband's check wasn't coming in for another week so she wanted an advance. So I loaned it to her. Then she called in sick for the rest of the week. Then when her next check came around she gave me a sob story about how much she needed it. After 3 weeks of that, I cut her off, and she quit. I never did get my money.

Yes, and they never pay back on the stated day. I stopped lending to them and only make an exception for family

I loaned a friend $600 with her promising me to pay me back within 2 months. It never happened and we are no longer friends.
