I am a little racist against black people; I don't like being around them in a Dark City, I feel like they might try to take my money or something.

I am not trying to put anyone down, nor am I saying that one race is better than another. This is a Psychological question regarding race. I simply want to see what people think.

I can understand when you say you are a little scared around black neighbourhoods or in the ghetto. I am black myself, I am not black american. I am was born in brittain parents are african and raised in the surburbs of michigan. I do admit that i have problems with certain ways people act in every race. A lot of people get scared when they go to the ghetto alone at night wheather you are black white mexican whatever you still have that fear because how its portrayed as a bad place to be.Not every black person is from there not every black person acts that way. Even I myself, get really tense and nervous there . I also have a problem with how ignorant some white and black people can be but that does not mean that all of them are that way. My fiance is white, and I dont see the color of his skin been an issue and neither does he. They are white people so if you say you hate ghetto people, you must also remember they are white people in the ghetto. The word is not racist in the topic. Its sterotyping cause all the answers i have seen on here have pretty much to do with sterotyping races and thinking that because they are black they all talk this way they all steal they all live in the ghetto whatever negative things you hear about them. Not just blacks even mexicans that they must be Illegal and work in farms. A racist is a person that does not like someone because of the color of ther skin, religion and think that they are superior to them. Thats a racist, now stop and think and think about that!!! ARE YOU?

No, I don't think I'm racist. Maybe against the terrorists and suicide bombers but not against the entire Muslim population because I know they aren't all bad people. But I do hate it when people use the race card in certain situations that have nothing to do with the race of people involved.

What I have problems with are people who perpetuate stereotypes. Like the southern racist. The black gansta. It isn't a matter of race, it is rising above what the world may think of you and be who you think you ought to be. People who wallow in certain attitudes are just selling themselves short. Anyone, no matter what race, can be whoever they want to be. Rise above it all. Better yourself. I am not racist, just against ignorance, I guess. But I understand your fears. Many people have them. They just don't have the guts to admit it.

Everybody feels uncomfortable around people who are different from them. So prejudice knows no skin color--it's very human.
The trick is, can you keep your thoughts in check? Can you counter unfair thoughts with fair ones?
And sometimes it's not just racism, it's a calculated strategy to avoid danger. Sometimes you avoid a person because they look like they might do you harm, and even if you're wrong, there's no real harm done by avoiding that person.

It's natural to fear (and sometimes hate) what you don't understand. It's a form of ignorance. If you take the time to enlighten yourself through education and socialization, your feelings of racism might just dissipate. Best wishes to you.
