Ima weed smoker I can do it everyday for 1/2 a month and then maybe3times a week for the rest of the month i am 17 and i understand all the risks but an addiction specialist told me that it could(keyword been it doesntneccesesairly happen)keep you from developin your brain in some areas that develop durin your teen years, but it was nothing that couldnt be irreversible with time but the drug lady at my school find out and shes like goin crazy tellin me that weed is gateway drug and soon the high wont be enough and look for other stuff and become deppresed.BUT THAT IS ONLY TRUE FOR A SMALL NUMBER OF PEOPLE, REAL WEED SMOKERS JUST STAY STUCK ON WEED, If I was gonna go do Ecstasy I would have already done it she doesnt understand that, I am a calm person that likes peaceful stuff, now why the **** would I look for harder stuff like Ecstasy it wouldnt make any sense since ecstasy does not make you explore your thoughts and reach inner peace how do i make her not tell my mom & leaveme alone

it hasnt made me lazy
it has actually gotten me to explore some bussiness ideas after high school
and my grades are not the best but its not cause of weed , Ive had bad horrible grades since i was in elementary school, I'm actually passin some classes now. and depressed nope, I wasnt really deppresed before and now I am so happy with life, I appreciate so much, I love my life and i am happy
I AM a pothead but
im not dumb im not slow
im not unmotivated i dont seat in a couch and smoke like most anti drug commercials
i probably lead a more active life than anyone else
shoot i even exercise daily and have healthy diet. and PEOPLE NEED TO UNDERSTAND THAT WEED AFFECTS PEOPLE DIFFERENTLY. and if all these bad symptoms are suppose to come , they wouldve comed already, weed isnt it aids that you see symptoms up to 10years later.

Pot can do much damage. I used to smoke pot, now I am lucky if I can remember my child's ball game time.
Plus, you could get caught. Get jail time. You could get a bad batch, some people lace pot with other drugs, or even household chemicals to make more money.
The "drug lady" is right. Some do not move on to harder drugs, but many do. After awhile pot loses its effect on you, and you could end up exploring harder substances.
Your best bet is to seek treatment before it gets worse.

O.K. Your 17. I started smoking pot when I was 18. Now I'm 39 years old and my short term memory is totally ******. And I smoked everyday for almost 20 years. I forget things all of the time. Sometimes I sit back and think about all the money I spent on that stuff. Let me tell you, the money feels better in my pocket. The law is a lot tougher on drugs than it used to be. There are so many different ways you could look at it. Both good and bad. Only you can make the choice to do it or not. Did I mention that I have Emphysema from all the pot I used to smoke?

now you want some one in this forum to cosign you smoking weed for a half a month, and if weed has such a good effect on you, the question is why aren't you feeling good any way normal people don't need narcotics in order to feel good, there is a great chance you may need medication, you also may be able to find natural remedies for your issue, this is a classic example of a addict who has a problem with depression or some other illness, and self medicating which is not uncommon for a addict: they normally have other issues so they self medicate with street drugs,
1 you do not know whats in that grass your smoking
2 this is the road most addict take
3 they all feel like life is good at first and they are really being helped
4 If you don't have a problem then why do you need pot? just stop
5 most addicts don't learn about addiction until it is far to late in life like jail, institution, &death
6 most addicts thinking are corrupted in the first place that's why they use drugs!
7 POT IS ILLEGAL

Anything that you do that often can affect your brain development and make you not as sharp as you could be. Believe me, I understand why you enjoy it, but it absolutely does put you at a higher risk for trying other drugs at some point. It has led everyone I know to at least try something harder at lest once for fun or for the experience. Take a break for a while and see the difference in how much sharper your mind will be. Again, I'm not putting you down for it , I'm just telling you what I've seen from my own experiences.

I don't really know what your question is, but I will give you my views on weed. I do not smoke weed. I did in high school, and I loved it. But it had a VERY big effect on me. It didn't mellow me out, it made me act insane. But it was fun. But one time when I was 16, everything just changed. It made me paranoid. It made me feel like I was going to die. I thought it was just a one time thing, so I tried it again, and the same thing happened. So I don't smoke anymore. And I also wanted to add that it was NOT a gateway drug for me.
But I know A LOT of people who do smoke weed, and it does have different effects for everyone, just as alcohol does. Some people work best after smoking, some people become more social, some people just get crazy, like I did. And I know a lot of people who are in college getting EXCELLENT grades while they still smoke weed. They have always got good grades, and it didn't change when they started to smoke. And I also feel that, for some people, weed is a safer alternative to alcohol. While for me it would not be, because it would make me do something stupid, for some people alcohol will make them do something stupid, while weed just mellows them out, or gets them more motivated for a school project, or they become more social so they are better at work.
I think you should just live your life, and do what makes you happy.

You have a big problem. You are in complete denial about your drug use. It sounds like you are trying to get someone to say what you want to hear. You have ask an "addiction specialist" about your drug use, hearing what you want to hear and dismissing the rest. DEEP DOWN, YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING IS A BAD IDEA. Hopefully, you will decide to stop on your own because no one else can do it for you.
(Judging from this question, It looks like it has already affected your writing skills.)

Copy and save your question. Then look at it again in 10 years. See if you still have the same positive opinion of yourself then that you do now.
Better yet, imagine how much you're going to regret what you're doing right now when you're 27 years old. Or 37 or 47.

the best thing you could do would be to just make your own decission...as far as weed leading to other drugs..well that is opinion..just make sure you neverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr take the temptation and touch any other drug..im 42 and been smoking for ever..i have a family a job and have never been locked up...so like i said...that is your choice..tell the shrink at school you quite...chill on smoking for awhile..and take niacin,, its 5 bucks a bottle and it will hide the thc in any drug test....my son is military..he uses it often and has always passed..and you continue to be happy...hope this helps..
